From ‘Come Fly With Me’ to ‘Come Sleep Eat & Chill With Me ‘

Being a former host in the sky Serena lives and breathes the hospitality spirit. The Covid crisis made her rethink her career path in the airline industry — as she was already looking for a bit more stability in terms of a set work place.

Although TSH is an ever-changing environment — working in a specific TSH location does bring her a dedicated team and a set work place.

Talking about her transition from aviation to hotel, we’ve asked her how she thinks TSH can contribute to her career:

I hope to grow within TSH. One thing that was really important for me coming from another industry was that there is career perspective and opportunity and TSH already showed me that you can achieve anything you want and that all necessary tools will be given as long as you work and be pro-active.

(Rumour has it she’s still getting used to her new work environment- as she sometimes gives hotel check-in guests flight instruction demonstrations..)

DELFT

Serena has opened the brand new TSH Delft together with her team and is working — as one of our Assistants Operations — front of house. Being the ultimate host for students, business guests, cowork guests and everyone from the local Delft community, she uses her previous airline experience to further develop it towards the hotel and coworking sector.

Q: Tell us Serena, why did you decide to take a plunge in the deepend and apply at TSH?

I joined TSH because it felt like an exciting company to work with. It is fast growing with a lot of opportunities to explore and to grow in further. It is a vibrant place to work and I like the focus on customer experience whilst maintaining a fun workplace vibe.

Q: Sounds like a good decision ;). Can you share a bit about what surprised you at TSH?

I was surprised by the great atmosphere and vibe in every location. You already feel the positive vibe during the application process but to maintain this throughout the actual hotels is quite hard and I think that every TSH member feels part of this and feels responsible to show this to our guests.

Q: And what about your team and the current Covid situation?

I am very impressed by everyones attitude. Even despite Corona we all manage to create a great experience for our guests, whether they are hotel guests, students or extended stay guests.

We as TSH couldn’t be more happy with such a dedicated, smiley and wicked team member as Serena — and we’re pretty sure she will persue one hack of a Hospitality career, starting with us!
